Austin grad Danielle Tschann was a member of the Mankato Peppers 18U softball team that took third place at the Minnesota Metro Fastpitch League Class ‘A’ state tournament in Lakeville this past weekend.

Tschann, who hit .375 for the Packers this past spring, has learned to play first base with the Peppers this summer after catching for most of her high school career.

The Peppers also include Hayfield’s Dani Wagner, who will be a junior this fall. Although Wagner wasn’t playing in the state tournament.

The Mankato Peppers will play in the NASA tournament in Chaska this weekend and they will compete in Nationals in Rochester Aug. 3-5.

The Peppers have also added Sydney Murphy, who will be a sophomore at Austin this fall, to their roster.

Tschann plans on playing softball at St. Thomas this upcoming season.
