Designer and children’s author Paul Reetz will be both a featured artist and author at the Austin ArtWorks Festival this Aug. 25 and 26 at the Historic Downtown Power Plant in Austin.
Originally born in Southern California, Paul’s family eventually moved to Austin.
It was during high school that Paul first realized his intense passion for art.
Following his new found fervor; Paul made his way to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration.
After graduation, Paul became a full-time, freelance designer for Target.
This occupation allowed him to gain skills from a wide array of projects including style guides, print, product, surface design, and advanced trench research.
There, Paul teamed with world-renowned designers Tord Boontje and Fiona Hewitt, participating in projects involving their unique lines designed specifically for Target.
Paul eventually left Minnesota and is now working as a freelancer and currently holds a design position with music giant, Fender Corporation at Musicorp in Charleston, North Carolina.
