Coffee House On Main offers a slow, peaceful morning this Saturday.

The coffee shop hosts pianist and singer-songwriter Anne Marie David, as she returns to her hometown for a meet and greet from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. this weekend. Her uncle, locally famed storyteller Michael Cotter will also be on hand telling tales.

David, a Pacelli High School graduate, recently released her fifth CD of original songs. She won’t play live Saturday, but will meet listeners, and sell and sign CDs.

“I’ve never had my albums available in my hometown,” she said. “I’d like to have a concert in Austin soon. For now this is just an opportunity to grab a great cup of coffee, visit and listen to a story.”

David will sell her most recent CD Saturday, which she describes as being reflective of growing up on a farm in the Austin area and transplanting herself to Boston to pursue her musical career.

Cotter, also an Austin native, has performed at storytelling festivals across the country. He is also the founder of the state’s longest running storytelling festival, “Stories From The Heartland.”

He’ll share a story during the event, which David called open-house style and casual.

There is no admission fee, but attendees will be expected to patronize the coffee shop which hosts the event.
