Voter ID is essential part of system

The public deserves to have confidence in the integrity of our election system. Fair, transparent elections are essential to the functioning of our representative republic. Nothing inspires that confidence like photo ID.
This is pure bipartisan legislation. I really have to question the integrity of a legislator who cannot support something as sensible as this. Voter ID guarantees each voter a legitimate voice on election day.
I worked as an election judge in the November midterms and I can say first-hand that a modified system is needed.
It is a shame that our public libraries run with more efficiency and identification requirements than our election system.
