Riverland Community College’s James Wegner Art Gallery is displaying a new show, “Wizards of Watercolor,” featuring four local artists — James Wegner, Sally Gerhart, Shirley Tapp and Bonnie Lee. The artists’ diverse subjects feature both traditional transparent and opaque watercolor. The show runs from Feb. 23 through March 13. There will also be a public reception held for the artists on Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the art gallery.

According to Riverland Art Instructor Tim Jones the exhibition showcases a remarkable group of painters and highlights some of the foremost regional practitioners of this medium, representing one of our area’s cultural strengths.

The Riverland James Wegner Art Gallery features a diverse mix of student, community and professional artist work, traveling shows and the like. It is located on the Austin Campus in the West Building.

Gallery hours are: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
