The Glenville-Emmons girls’ basketball team got past Lyle-Pacelli Tuesday in its opening round game of the Section 1A West Division playoffs in a 53-32 win in Glenville.

The No. 7 seed Wolverines (6-19 overall) started strong with Reina Saltou hitting four 3-pointers in the first half to help build a 27-13 lead at halftime.

Kalli VanRyswyk recorded a double-double with a team-high 18 points and 14 rebounds.

The No. 10 seed Athletics (0-21 overall) closed to within nine points during a stretch in the second half, but solid defense from Glenville-Emmons kept them at bay.

The Wolverines will face Alden-Conger Saturday in Austin.
