Lorraine Paul, 85, of Austin, Minn., died Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Lorraine Patricia Maurek was born on Sept. 27, 1926, to James and Caroline (Malek) Maurek in Austin. She attended Queen of Angels, St. Augustine and Austin Public Schools. After high school, Lorraine worked at various jobs and later became secretary for her nephew, James Mork’s law firm. She continued to work later as a tax accountant until retiring in 1992. On Nov. 17, 1951, Lorraine married Edwin Samuel Paul in Austin. Lorraine and Ed enjoyed camping and spent a lot of time camping in the Cannon Falls KOA and enjoyed traveling. She enjoyed needlework, hardanger, crocheting and cross stitch. Lorraine liked to read and was a talented artist, doing oil painting and drawing. She was an original member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

Lorraine is survived by her dear husband, Edwin of Austin, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Caroline Maurek; three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be held at the Worlein Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
