Letter to the Editor
The Mower County Chapter of the American Red Cross thanks the many blood donors who helped make the August drive a huge success.
During the three-day draw 248 units were collected — 15 over our goal! There were six first-time donors (three of those were 16 years old). A special thanks to the many volunteers for their help with set-up and tear-down. We would also like to thank the following businesses for their contributions and support: Sterling State Bank and Barry Irish and staff, Tress, Culvers, Culligan Water Conditioning, Hy-Vee Food Store, Jim’s Market Place Foods, Cedar Valley Services, Inc., the Austin Daily Herald, and John Wright and KAUS Radio.
The next community blood drive will be Oct. 15-17 at Austin Sterling State Bank. Plan now to donate at the next blood drive. You will be someone’s hero — in fact, you could save more than one life with just one donation.
