James Edgar Hanson, 87, of Apple Valley, formerly of Richfield and Albert Lea, passed away May 16, 2011.

He is preceded in death by parents, Edgar and Gunvor; brother, Robert.

He is survived by loving wife of 57 years, Dorothy; sons: David of Burnsville and John (Kathryn) of Blaine; sister-in-law, Ruth Hanson of Annapolis, Md.; nieces, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. and visitation at 10 a.m. Friday at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd., Apple Valley 55124. Private interment wil be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Shepherd of the Valley Organ Fund.
