The Austin boys hockey team fell to Mankato East 9-4 Tuesday on the road.
The Packers (0-18-1 overall) trailed 7-1 after three, but they were shorthanded for 15 minutes of the second period and allowed just three goals in that stretch.
“We didn’t play too bad to hold them to three in that situation,” Austin head coach Tim Peterson said.
Adam McMasters had his first career hat trick for Austin and Josh Hart added the Packers other goal. Getting assists for Austin were Josh Detwiler, Garrett Erstad, Brady Klingfus, and Joe McBeain.
Aaron Dooley had 61 saves at net for Austin.
