The Austin Greyhounds lost 6-3 at Owatonna Wednesday.
The Hounds (2-1 overall) had the lead-off hitter on in the top of the ninth when John Frein made solid contact, but the Aces turned it into a double play. The next three Hounds reached base but it was too little, too late.
“If that ball gets hit somewhere else, it could’ve been a whole different inning,” Frein said. “We had a valiant effort, but we came up short. Owatonna’s a good team, but it’s tough to lose. We want to win every game.”
Matt Cano threw out two runners at home plate from right field and Craig Braaten threw out a runner from runner at home from left field in the loss.
