An Austin man injured himself at local residences after reportedly arguing with a female subject.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the man was transferred from Austin Medical Center – Mayo Health System to St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, for treatment of a severe laceration to his right wrist and placed under guard at the hospital.
The incident was reported 10:27 p.m. Saturday, but the man was allegedly involved in other incidents involving at least one of the same parties earlier in the evening.
Austin police were called to 909 Ninth Avenue Southwest by a female who said the suspect messed up the residence.
The homeowner told police he wanted to file charges against the man who had fled the scene.
According to the report, police found a window smashed, plus the glass panel in a door among other indications of an altercation, including blood. Next, Austin police were called to a residence in the 1000 block of Fourth Street Northwest, where the man was found hiding in a garage. He was taken into custody and sent to AMC for treatment of the wrist injury before being transferred.
Charges are pending after the Mower County Attorney reviews multiple reports about the incidents Saturday night, according to police.
