A 14-year-old Austin bicyclist suffered injuries Thursday evening after allegedly being hit by a car that immediately drove away.
According to a police report, the boy was riding his bicycle on Fourth Avenue and 12th Street NW when a car struck him from behind. He fell from the bike, scraping his elbow and palm and hitting his head. The car, which the boy could only describe as a shiny gold, four-door vehicle, left the scene after hitting him.
The boy did not go to the hospital for his injuries, though the police report said his mother would keep an eye on him and would take him later if she needed to. Police are asking any witnesses with more information on the hit-and-run to call police at 507-437-9400.
