Austin gymnasts take second

The Austin gymnastics team took second at the Austin Triangular at the YMCA Tuesday.
The Packers finished with season’s best 134.75 points, while first-place Owatonna had 141.250 at the three-team meet.
As a team, the Packers scored a 32.875 on the bars, and a 34.175 on the floor.
“If we could finish up a couple more skills and really clean up our routines we have the chance at going 34 points on bars and that would be a three year event record,” Austin head coach Mark Raymond said. “
The Packers had three of the top five performers in Sabrina Snater, who finished third with an overall score of 34.850 and a 9.050 in the floor exercise; Sela Fadness, who finished fourth with an overall score of 32.950 and an 8.75 on the balance beam; and Katy Jorgensen, who took fifth with a score of 32.850 and an 8.90 on the vault.
Senior Maggie Bartels had an 8.2 on the floor exercise after fighting a nagging injury.
