The Austin girls hockey team had it’s most dramatic win of the season when Catherine Wagner knocked in an overtime goal to give the Packers a 4-3 victory over Owatonna in Riverside Arena Friday.
Austin (8-9-3 overall, 5-7-1 Big Nine) led 3-0 going into the third period, but the Huskies scored three times in the third, including a goal by Aimee Goodew with 13 seconds left in regulation on a 6-on-3 advantage after the Huskies pulled their goalie during a power play.
“We had a lot of penalty issues in the third period,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.
Wagner scored four goals on the night for Austin, which attempted 37 shots as a team.
“We picked up right were we left off in against Albert Lea,” Bray said.
