Spring has finally arrived and the American Red Cross, Mower County Chapter wants to celebrate.

On Saturday, May 21, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. bring the family out and attend the First Annual Spring Fling at the Mower County Chapter office, 305 4th Ave. NW. Kids will enjoy a variety of games with prizes and parents can observe CPR and choking relief demonstrations. The Austin Fire Department and Sparky the fire dog will be there with a fire truck, the Austin Police Department will be talking about bicycle safety and Austin HyVee will provide refreshments. Many more exciting and fun activities are planned, including an appearance by special guest Ernie the Erv, the American Red Cross mascot. A free family fun day is the perfect way to celebrate a safe spring and summer. If it’s raining, the party will continue indoors
