Change will take all of us

It was an event of a lifetime, one of those rare occasions we’re likely to remember exactly where we were at that moment.
On Tuesday, Barack Obama officially became the 44th President of the United States. It was a historic day for many reasons, not only because Obama was sworn in as our nation’s first black president, but also because of the bleak state of our country and the hope that he will indeed be the president to bring change.
With that said, it’s not going to happen overnight, and the work can’t end at the national level. Our state and local legislators and leaders need to work hard as well to ensure that all of our communities are headed in the right direction.
We need to move the country forward collectively, not as spectators relying solely on Obama and his staff.
Just like in the work place, in sports and in our families, more is usually accomplished with a team effort.
This is our chance to turn the United States around, and as a whole, we certainly have the skills and the resources to do it.
