LETTER: We need more than one

I am really angry that we don’t have two senators from Minnesota in Washington representing us in this troubling time. The global economy is tanking, our country and environment are in a mess and major legislation is being introduced and debated that will impact our lives, our state and our country for years to come.
We need to have two senators in Washington representing us as things move ahead. From every report I have read, there is no way that Norm Coleman can overturn the duly certified election results, even if all of the votes he is disputing are given to him — which is not likely.
With a 225 or so point lead on election night, Norm Coleman urged Al Franken to concede instead of allowing a state-required recount to go ahead to save the people of Minnesota the time, money and trouble of having a recount. Now that Al Franken has a 225 or so point lead, Norm Coleman should follow his own advice and concede so that Al Franken can take his seat and we Minnesotans will have full representation in Washington to work for a brighter future for us all.
