The Austin girls hockey team knocked off Mankato East (2-12 overall) 4-1 on the road Thursday.

Austin (5-8-2 overall, 2-6 Big Nine) got two early goals from Kirsten Stanek to take control early as it played without Catherine Wagner and Kyli Ellingson for the second straight contest.

“The younger girls really picked it up and did a good job tonight,” Austin head coach Denny Bray said.
