Earl Jacobson, 97, of LeRoy, Minn., died Sept. 27, 2012, at Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minn., where he had resided for a short time.
Earl Harold Jacobson was born on June 2, 1915, in Miles City, Mont., to John T. and Edna (Johnson) Jacobson. He attended school through the eighth grade. Earl was united in marriage on Oct. 6, 1949, to Blanche (Walvatne) Johansen in West Union, Iowa.
Earl was proud of the fact that he took over and farmed his family’s farm until his retirement. He enjoyed carpenter projects such as building houses, cabinets and furniture. He was well read and always enjoyed a good mystery, and was also very in-tune with world and political issues. Earl was a member of the Farm Bureau and a member of the LeRoy Lutheran Church where he served on the church council.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Anna Mae Olson of LeRoy; two grandchildren, Morrissa (Jon) Allen of Prior Lake, Minn., and Eve Beebe of Burnsville, Minn.; three great-grandchildren, Aaron Allen, Erica Beebe and Bailey Brinkhaus and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Blanche in 2007; two brothers, John and LaVerne; one sister in infancy, Ruth; one grandson, Lee; a great-grandson, Stuart; and a sister-in-law, Bernice.
Funeral services for Earl Jacobson will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery.
