The county’s Public Works Department finished work on the Roosevelt Bridge on Fourth Street NE around the middle of last week. While the bridge is now open for traffic, its bike lane is still closed as cleanup is underway. Public Works Director Mike Hanson said the bridge may receive further repairs in the future.

Another bridge, on Fourth Street SW, was finished on Friday, and bridge replacement on County Road 4 is nearing completion as well.

“It should be within a week,” Hanson said.

Over on County State Aid Highway 1, the county is planning another bridge replacement. That project will begin at the end of October and should last through the winter.
