Sure, it feels like it’s time to start moving things indoors. Still there are a few things to be had outside for those who can handle a little chill. Then again, there’s fun stuff indoors, too.

 

Alison Scott

Alison Scott will bring her unique rock charms — rock music, that is — to the Paramount Theatre at 7:30 p.m. this Friday. Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for members and $7 for students. The Paramount Theatre is located at 125 Fourth Ave. NE.

 

‘Eurydice’

Decisions, decisions. Across town, at Riverland Community College’s Frank W. Bridges Theatre, 1900 Eighth Ave. NW, there’s more indoor entertainment on Friday. “Eurydice,” the play about a woman who dies on her wedding day and reckons her separation from her betrothed, Orpheus, opens at 7:30 p.m. and also shows 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. This time, things are a little more modern.

 

Book sale

Warm up to a good book after you hit the Austin Public Library on either Friday or Saturday. The fall used book sale, 323 Fourth Ave. NE, is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days and boasts thousands of books. Better start crawling, book worms.

 

Pheasants forever

OK, time to get outside. Saturday’s forecasted 45 degree high won’t deter you, pheasant hunters. Take part in the Tri County Pheasants Forever Breast Cancer Awareness hunt at Three Arrows Hunting Preserve near LeRoy, 78590 125th St. Couples can participate for $200 and hunt in one of four time slots starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.

 

Pork chop dinner

Austin loves this next one: Christ Episcopal Church’s sauerkraut and pork chop dinner. The annual event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Entry is $10, and way worth it, not to mention extra kraut for purchase. Pile it on.
