Harriet E. Kruckeberg, 85

Harriet Elaine Kruckeberg, age 85 of Blooming Prairie, passed away at Allina Hospital in Owatonna on Oct. 12, 2012.

Harriet was born Nov. 11, 1926, to Harold and Pearl (Clark) Hunter in Westfield Township, Dodge County, Minn. She married Herman Kruckeberg at St. John’s Lutheran Church on March 22, 1944.

The couple made their home in Newry Township where they started farming. Moving to the Waltham, Minn. area in 1964, they farmed for 44 years before retiring and moving to Blooming Prairie. Harriet enjoyed quilting, gardening, church groups, her birthday club and family visits.

Survivors include three daughters: Judy (William) Nygren of Buffalo City, Wis.; Connie (Michael) Leighton of Boynton Beach, Fla; Debbie (Daryl) Nelson of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Eileen Lindquist of Blooming Prairie, Minn. and Sharon (Dean) Christianson of Blackduck, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Pearl; her husband, Herman; her grandson, Jim Koster; her sister, Ginger; two brothers-in-law, Bennie Bishop and Spencer Lindquist.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie with Pastors Heidi Heimgartner and Charles Leonard co-officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home. Interment is at the Blooming Prairie Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com
