Nadine Broitzman, 92, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Nadine Broitzman, 92, of Albert Lea, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Myrtle. The Rev. Ronald Myers will officiate. Interment will be at Wanderer’s Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Nadine died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran Home.

Nadine Broitzman was born June 11, 1920, to Carl and Ida (Pederson) Olson in Northwood. She grew up by the Deer Creek and Myrtle area. Nadine attended Deer Creek school where she earned a reward for having 100 perfect spelling lessons. On Nov. 12, 1939, Nadine was united in marriage to Wilmer Broitzman at Zion Lutheran Church in Northwood. Nadine helped Wilmer on the farm and enjoyed being a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and had been active in ladies aide. Nadine enjoyed gardening flowers, cooking, watching TV, solving crossword puzzles, listening to old time polka music with Wilmer and she loved all animals.

Survivors include her sons Roger Broitzman and Lonny (Sue) Broitzman; grandchildren: Mike Broitzman, Jodi (Jamie) Doeden, Lisa Broitzman, Michelle Broitzman, Rick Broitzman, Jennifer Broitzman, Jill (Ben) Weller, Brian Broitzman and Kelly Dietrich; seven great-grandchildren; sister Ina Thorson; sisters-in-law Mabel Perleberg and Helen Broitzman; and many nieces and nephews.

Nadine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilmer; son Dennis; daughter-in-law Diane Broitzman; great-granddaughter Amanda Blankenship; sister Larraine Olson; and brother Kenneth Olson.
