Basketball: Blue Devil men open strong with 2 wins

WORTHINGTON — The Blue Devil men’s basketball team opened its season with a a pair of quality wins as it beat Dordt JV 81-64 Saturday and topped Madison Tech. 65-54 Sunday in the Minnesota West Classic.
Zach Bunch, a sophomore guard from Kenosha, Wis., had 22 points and five steals against Dordt and he poured in 28 points to go with three assists against Madison Tech.
“Zach Bunch really stepped up and played like the old Zach,” RCC head coach Scott Koenigs said. “We really haven’t seen that lately that because he had a knee injury, but he’s a gamer and we found out we have some other gamers. “
TJ Adams had eight points and 13 rebounds against Madison Tech. and Goliath Oboyo scored 10 against Dordt.
