Inez Christine “Chris” Schutte (Schultz) (nee Rabine), 79, of Coon Rapids, Minn., passed away on Nov. 1, 2012.

Born in Chester, Iowa, to William and Elna Rabine, she moved to St. Paul as a young girl and spent several years there before returning to Elkton, Minn., to assist her grandparents on their farm. When her father died at an early age, Chris’ mother moved her family back to St. Paul, where Chris met and married Fred Schultz. They had five children. Fred died at age 44 and Chris supported her family working for Ramsey County and the state of Minnesota. She later met and married Gerrit Schutte and they had 28 wonderful years of retirement and travels together. Gerrit passed away in January 2012.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; brothers, William and Bruce; granddaughters, Christa and Casey May; parents, Elna & William. She is survived by children; Laura (Wes) Wagstrom, Paul (Ann) Schultz, Kim (Marc) Savaria, Ronald (Jan) Schultz and Steven Schultz; stepchildren, Glen (Brenda) Schutte, Kaye (David) Schendel; 11 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene (Harvey) Buchite and sister in-law, Betty Rabine; many relatives and good friends.

Memorial Service 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Faith Lutheran, 11115 Hanson Boulevard NW, Coon Rapids (763-755-3530) with visitation at the church one hour before service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the American Heart Association and Allina Hospice. www.cremationsocietyofmn.com
