ALBERT LEA — A 17-year-old boy was reportedly stabbed three times — twice in the thigh and once in the back —with a small knife Wednesday morning in a home in southeast Albert Lea, according to the Albert Lea Police Department.
A 15-year-old girl has been arrested and is being held at a juvenile detention facility, said Lt. Darren Hansen.
He declined to say what led to the alleged stabbing or what kind of small knife it was.
Medical staff at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea emergency room notified police at around 8:46 a.m. Wednesday about the alleged stabbing, according to the lieutenant. The teenager was reportedly brought into the emergency room.
The injuries are not life-threatening, Hansen said, and he was unsure whether the teen was taken to another medical facility or treated at the hospital.
