Potter, minister brings presentation to Our Father’s House in Albert Lea

Not every minister looking to spread the word of God uses pottery as the main tool of the trade. Grace Johnson, however, does exactly that.

Our Father’s House in Albert Lea will host “An Evening with the Potter,” a dinner and presentation by Grace Johnson of Potter’s Heart Ministries at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18. Tickets for the catered dinner are $10 per person and a free will offering will be received for Potter’s Heart Ministries. Reservations can be made by calling 507-462-3222 or by e-mailing Lois at lwhankins@gmail.com before Nov. 12.

Grace Johnson has created a tender drama that speaks directly to the heart, combining her skills as a potter and a storyteller to show how God has molded each person as a unique creation.

“She brings her potter’s wheel and all the necessary equipment,” said Donna Tuttle, a congregation member at Our Father’s House. “She weaves into that her own testimony of how God has spoken to her.”

Through years of religious striving and battles with self-hate and rejection, Johnson has used her potter’s wheel as a means for her to share God’s work in her life. She takes her audience on a journey to the heart of God to explore and confirm the unconditional and extraordinary love he has for people.

While Johnson has never come to Our Father’s House before, she has done a presentation in Kiester, to the southwest of Albert Lea.

“It’s very highly spoken of,” Tuttle said, adding both men and women have found the presentation to be moving.

Those who choose not to join for dinner may still come by at no charge for the presentation, Tuttle said. The church is located at 18358 U.S. 69 in Albert Lea.
