A LeRoy home is destroyed after it went up in flames early Thursday morning.
The LeRoy fire Department responded to the fire in the 300 block of East Main Street at about 6:15 a.m. While nobody was injured, the homeowner was there while firefighters battled the blaze and stayed on scene for several hours.
According to LeRoy Fire Chief Rick Dohlman, the fire may have started in the kitchen before it spread.
“It’s going to be a total loss when it’s all said and done,” he said.
Dohlman added that the fire spread to an addition and reached its way into the attic before firefighters could extinguish it. The State Fire Marshall is also investigating.
