Packer bowlers miss out on state tournament

DAYTON – The Packer bowling team came up one game short of making a repeat trip to the Minnesota State High School bowling tournament at the Minnesota Qualifying Tournament in Dayton Saturday.
Austin lost its first match in bracket play to Henry Sibley, then it won four straight matches to get into the third place match, with the winner going to state. The Packers’ season came to an end when they lost to Proctor 188-169, 189-212, 200-144.
Saturday’s tournament was the last bowling action for Packer seniors Jacob Conner, Ben Farrell, Dan Gerlach and Lucas Hegna.
