Michael L. Estlick, 53, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, Nov. 14, 2012, after waging a courageous six-month battle with cancer and a brain tumor.

Michael Lorane Estlick was born Jan. 18, 1959, to Gerald (Jerry) and Gundi (Busch) Estlick in Austin, Minn. He attended Queen of Angels Elementary School along with his three sisters, Susanne, Dawne and Jackie. The family subsequently moved to Mankato, Minn., where Jerry earned his degree in education. Upon his graduation, the family headed to Colorado Springs, where they made their permanent home. Mike graduated from Harrison High School in 1977. His father taught at Harrison for 20 years before his retirement.

In Mike’s graduating class was a pretty girl, Sally Good. They later married and had four lovely daughters: Melanie, Nicole, Christine and Julie. They are also the proud grandparents of Skye, John, Jayden and Ava.

Mike always had a passion for working on computers and cars. He was a skilled woodworker, which was an inherited skill from his paternal grandfather, Frank Estlick, who was a well known carpenter and cabinet maker. Mike loved to fish in the beautiful lakes and streams of Colorado and he and Sally often camped in their motor home, enjoying nature’s beauty.

He worked for El Paso County in Colorado Springs as their webmaster for more than 16 years while also dabbling in his other passion, coloring comic books. He was the type of man who would not hesitate to help others in need, whether it was helping to fix their car or troubleshooting their computer issues.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sally; four daughters and spouses; four grandchildren; three sisters and spouses and their families; several Busch relatives in Germany; an aunt, Pat Swenson, Austin; numerous Estlick cousins; Sally’s extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Gundi; grandparents, Frank and Mary Estlick, Nikoli and Ellinor Busch; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service was held Nov. 18, 2012, in Colorado Springs at the New Life Church. Blessed be his memory.

Feel no guilt in laughter, he’d know how much you care. Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share. If you keep those moments, you will never be apart, and he will live forever, locked safely within your heart.

We love you Mike.
