GOODHUE — The Blooming Prairie boys basketball team took the lead early and went on to beat Goodhue (2-1 overall) 59-49 on the road Thursday.

BP (2-0 overall) led by 10 for most of the game, but the Wildcats pulled into within three. BP freshman Anthony Nelson responded by scoring on consecutive possessions.

BP senior Michael Thomas had 23 points and John Rumpza added 15 points and eight rebounds.
