An Austin man has changed his plea to guilty in a July home break-in and assault.
Darren Yahudah Thompson, 26, pleaded guilty to first-degree burglary and domestic assault, both felonies.
According to the court complaint, the victim would no longer let Thompson in her home on July 5; however, Thompson allegedly kicked in the door and hit the woman in the face. A friend of the victim called 911, and Thompson allegedly fled when he saw her on the phone. Police were not able to find Thompson, as he allegedly hopped a fence and took off. They arrested him on Aug. 8.
Police noticed a welt on the right side of the victim’s face, as well.
Thompson is set for sentencing on Feb. 7.
