Packer girls fall to Spartans

ROCHESTER — The Austin girls basketball team lost its fifth straight game to open the season when it fell to Rochester Mayo (4-2 overall, 2-1 Big Nine) on the road Friday.
Austin trailed 13-6 to start the game, but it mostly kept even from that point on.
“We definitely improved from the second half of the Albert Lea game,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “I was encouraged by how we played tonight.”
Steph Justice led the Packers (0-5 overall, 0-3 Big Nine) with 10 points.
