Come get a taste of Scandinavian cookies
Published 4:53 pm Saturday, December 15, 2012
If you don’t have a Swedish or Norwegian grandmother you still can enjoy crispy, delicate rosette cookies.
At 2:30 p.m. Monday, the Senior Center will be holding a class to make rosette cookies. All that is needed is a rosette iron and the patience to learn a few easy tricks in order to make this traditional favorite.
Rosettes can be tricky to make at first. Success typically depends upon making sure that your oil is at the right temperature, which is why it’s good to use a candy/deep fry thermometer. Come to this fun class and try it here before attempting it at home. Take some home with you for only $5 per half dozen. To sign up for this stop by the front desk or call 433-2370 ext 0.
On Tuesday come in and make personalized placemats for the holidays. Cut out holiday cards and make a pattern or bring in your family photos to make a placemat to brighten up your table.
This class begins at 1 p.m. To sign up for this stop by the front desk or call 433-2370 ext 0. See you there. You are always welcome at the Senior Center.
