The Austin Packer dance team placed fourth in kick and fifth in jazz at a 17-team invite in Holy Angels Academy Saturday.

Many of the top teams in the state were competing as Chaska, the defending state champs and three other state finalists were competing as well.

“This challenge is intensified because most of the schools in attendance have a fall season, which we don’t here in Austin,” Austin head coach Jen Sims said. “By the time we start our winter season, we feel two months behind other teams in skill development and conditioning.”
