NORTHWOOD — A Kensett man has been charged with vehicular homicide after a crash in September that killed another man.
Worth County District Court documents allege Michael Scott Chodur, 46, was under the influence of amphetamines or methamphetamine on Sept. 2 when he reportedly drove his 1980 Chevrolet Corvette into the back of another 1980 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Lynn Maynard Weedman, 57, of Glenville.
Both men had been driving east on Worth County Road A39, west of Nuthatch Avenue near Manly.
Weedman’s car reportedly went into the north ditch and caught fire, coming to rest on its wheels facing west.
Chodur’s car came to rest in the middle of the highway facing east, where it also caught fire.
Weedman died three days later at the University Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.
The Worth County Attorney’s office filed the charge against Chodur on Friday in Worth County District Court. The charge is a Class B felony.
Chodur reportedly posted a $25,000 bond on Monday.
