Sheehan’s three lifts Austin girls past Rochester John Marshall

ROCHESTER — For the third time this season, the Austin girls basketball team won a game on the road with a late shot.
This time Austin senior Jocelyn Sheehan was the one who came through as she hit a three-pointer with three seconds left to give Austin a 48-47 win over Rochester John Marshall (8-7 overall, 5-4 Big Nine) on the road Friday.
The Rockets had a chance to go up four, but Katelyn Rushton missed the front end of a one-and-one, and the Packers scrambled down the court without any timeouts. Steph Justice eventually found Sheehan on the wing where she put her team up for good.
“I don’t what it is and I can’t put my finger on it,” Austin head coach Todd Johnson said. “Maybe we’re just more relaxed playing on the road. We’ll take it.”
Justice and Jenna Svoboda each added nine points for the Packers (7-8 overall, 4-5 Big Nine).
“This was a great team victory after Tuesday’s loss and the girls battled, even thought they were outsized,” Johnson said.
