Richard L. “Rick” Hall, 78, of Austin, Minn., died Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester surrounded by his family.

Richard was born April 18, 1934, to Leonard and Mamie (Lund) Hall in Austin, Minn. He grew up in Austin where he graduated from Austin High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force. He became a Hormel employee in 1953, working in the grade and yield office. On Dec. 7, 1957, Rick married Jennylou Davin at St. Olaf Lutheran Church. They raised two children. A member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, he belonged to a carving club, a camping club and also enjoyed breakfast at McDonald’s with good friends. Retiring in 1996, Rick enjoyed camping with his wife, Jenny, and devoting time to children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Cindy (Scott) Jasmin and Michael (Melissa) Hall, both of Austin; five grandchildren, Jacob, Scotty, Holly, Warren and Rebecca; mother, Mamie (Hall) Kintz; sisters, Darlene Koch of Austin and Sharon (Joseph) Stephani of Pine City. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Hall; his wife, Jenny and his brother, Leroy.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, March 7, 2013, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. There will be a private family interment. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family and are requested to be labeled with the sender’s address, so that the family may acknowledge them.
