One man was injured and another man arrested after Austin police observed a street fight early Sunday morning.

According to an Austin Police Department report, officers saw two males fighting outside Mickey’s Bar near 12:51 a.m. Sunday.

When officers attempted to intervene, one of the combatants took a swing at an officer, who took the man to the ground and subdued him.

The man was handcuffed and a Gold Cross Ambulance Service crew transported him to Austin Medical Center – Mayo Health System for treatment of facial wounds sustained in the fight, according to the police report.

A 35-year-old Blue Earth male was taken into custody and jailed for suspicion of second degree assault.

The 26-year-old Austin victim was treated and released from the AMC emergency room.

Mickey’s Bar is located across Second Avenue Northeast from the Austin – Mower County Law Enforcement Center in downtown Austin.
