Highway 218 N. collision sends two to hospital

A head-on collision on Highway 218 North sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

Emergency officials responded to the crash, which happened around 1:30 p.m. near Carney Auto. The crash blocked a portion of the road for about 45 minutes.

28-year-old Daniel Stewart, 28, of Austin and his passenger Richard Loomis, 85, of Austin were transported by Gold Cross Ambulance after the car they were in collided with another car driven by Amy Snyder, 23, of Faribault according to Minnesota State Patrol reports

All three people in the second car that included Fernando Marin, 25, and an unidentified juvenile female sustained no apparent injuries.

Injuries to Stewart and Loomis were listed as minor.
