Austin senior Joe Aase has been named to the All-State second team.
Aase, who is Austin’s all-time leading scorer, averaged 17.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.3 steals per game, for the Packers, who finished 30-1 overall and took second in the Class ‘AAA’ state boys basketball tournament.
Aase, who will play at Division I Davidson College next season, shot 46 percent from the field, 40 percent on 3-pointers and 80 percent on free throws.
The first team included co-players of the year Tyus Jones of Apple Valley and Reid Travis of DeLaSalle, Anders Broman of Lakeview Christian Academy, Rashad Vaughn of Robbinsdale Cooper and Graham Woodward of Edina.
Aase is one of just four Class ‘AAA’ players on the team.
