Paramount installs new entry system

There has been a lot of activity at the Historic Paramount Theatre.
Recently, Adair Electric installed a new key card entry system. It has allowed us to offer better accessibility to the Paramount for our space users like Northwestern Singers and Matchbox Children’s Theatre. Additionally, it provides us with specific information on who is coming in and out of the building.
The Austin Area Commission for the Arts would like to formally thank The Hormel Foundation and the Austin Area Foundation for providing us with the funding to help make the key card system a reality.
After much deliberation and discussion with city officials and Parks and Recreation, the AACA Board of Directors has officially decided to re-focus the Paramount expansion to the east side of the building.
Miller Dunwiddie Architecture has just begun the work of designing the east expansion, and will hopefully have a new concept to the AACA Board of Directors by their April board meeting.
There are many other new and exciting projects in the works. Stay tuned for future announcements.
In the meantime, don’t miss any of the exciting events happening in April. The Matchbox Children’s Theatre will present “Rapunzel and the Witch” at 7 p.m. on April 12 and 2 p.m. on April 13 and 14.
Tickets are on sale at Hy-Vee and the Paramount.
The Northwestern Singers will be teaming up with the Austin Big Band for their spring concert “In the Mood” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 20.
AACA will present America’s favorite rockin’ country band Little Texas for their 25th Anniversary tour at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 26 .
We will be hosting a beer garden on the east side of the theatre starting at 6 p.m. that evening.
