Those looking for some warm, sunny, spring days can keep waiting or go elsewhere.
The National Weather Service in LaCrosse, Wis., forecasts a lot of rain and cool weather for the next week. According to its data, there could be rain every day through next Thursday, with Wednesday being a particularly sloppy day with a chance of freezing rain and snow. The high temperature on Wednesday may only reach 41 degrees.
Much of the rain may fall to the north of Austin, such as in the Twin Cities and farther north. Hydrometeorological technician Tom Stangeland said some portions of the Upper Mississippi River could flood.
As far as temperature, Stangeland doesn’t expect temperatures to get much warmer than low 50s for more than a week.
