The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Mower County, calling on travelers to use caution when traveling tonight and tomorrow as freezing drizzle and snow move through the area.
NWS meteorologists say freezing drizzle will develop later this afternoon and turn into snow overnight, which could give the area 2 to 3 inches of snow. In addition, there could be ice accumulation up to 1/10 of an inch thick, which could make roads slippery and potentially hazardous to travel.
The winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Thursday through noon Friday.
