Freedom Week starts Monday at Ellis

Freedom Week at Ellis Middle School with be April 15-19. Ellis students and staff will kick off the event at 8 a.m. Monday with a flag ceremony in front of the school. Color guards from the American Legion, DAV and VFW will participate, along with local Boy and Girl Sccouts. An assembly will follow in the school auditorium.
Norm Hecimovich and Ron Hanson will talk about American flag etiquette, prisoners of war and those missing in action.
Most of the activities will be done during the week within social studies classes. They will promote citizens’ freedoms in different ways and generate discussion and thought, especially on the cost of freedom.
