Vision 2020 organizers have run into obstacles with their downtown plaza stage project.
The stage is weeks behind schedule due to the weather, and the Riverland Community College carpentry program is no longer part of the project as the school year will soon end.
Riverland instructor Tom Wilker said he met with organizers last week over the college’s upcoming end of the semester and everyone decided another contractor should take over the project. Wilker said the college is still interested in helping out, but it will depend on when the project can start.
Laura Helle, director of creative vision for Vision 2020, said organizers were still weighing options for the stage.
