Michael K. Calderon, 55, of Fairborn, Ohio, died on Friday, May 3, 2013, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born May 7, 1957, in Albert Lea. He met the love of his life, Diane (Nelson), and they were married 33 wonderful years and raised five beautiful children together. While in Albert Lea he owned his own car detailing business. He later received a degree in computer aided drafting and his work as a designer took him to Texas where he worked at Texas Instruments. He later moved to Fairborn where he worked at Dayton-Phoenix Group as a mechanical designer.
Michael treasured his time with his wife and family. He loved to travel and enjoyed taking cruises with Diane. He was extremely proud of his three sons, two daughters and three grandchildren who adored him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Diane; his children, Ashley of Columbus, Ohio, Noah of Fairborn, Jason of Fairborn, Brooke of Columbus and Jillian (T.J.) Williams of Fairborn; grandchildren, Mason, Mateo and Alena; parents, Reuben and Zoila Calderon of Albert Lea; siblings, Mario Calderon of Eagan, Reuben (Jon) Calderon Jr. of Dripping Springs, Texas, Tony Calderon of Kearney, Neb., Steven Calderon of Burnsville, Cathy Calderon of Austin, Cindy Calderon of St. Paul and Connie Calderon of Arizona (widow of Robert Calderon); brothers-in-law, Gene (Maureen) Nelson of St. Paul, Dennis Nelson of Rochester, Cliff (Kathy) Michaelis of Shakopee, Judy Nelson (widow of Gary Nelson) of Hastings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert A. Calderon, brother-in-law, Gary Nelson and mother-in-law, Pearl Traufler.
The memorial service and funeral were held in Fairborn.
