Carol Elaine Nagle, 60, of Austin, Minn., died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Adams Health Care Center in Adams, Minn.

Carol was born Sept. 24, 1952, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of William F. and Dorothy Louise (Bakken) Anderson. She was raised in the Chicago area and graduated from Country Club Hills High School in 1970. She then attended Bemidji State University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s in elementary education in 1974. On June 16, 1973, she was united in marriage to Lon Avery Nagle in Flossmoor, Ill. They made their home in Austin, where Carol taught elementary education in the Austin Public Schools from 1974 until her retirement in 2009. She enjoyed reading and especially loved teaching. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Since November 2012, she has been a resident of the Adams Health Care Center in Adams.

Survivors include her husband, Lon Nagle of Austin; two children, William “Bill” Nagle and Katherine “Katie” (Scott Slezak) Nagle, all of Austin; a granddaughter, Emilie Slezak of Austin; her mother, Louise Anderson of Austin; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father William F. Anderson.

Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Christ Episcopal Church, 301 Third Ave. NW, Austin, with the Rev. Catherine Lemons, officiating. There will be no visitation or reviewal. Inurnment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. The Worlein Funeral Home of Austin in charge of arrangements.
