Six Mile Grove will be helping Austin kick-off the summer right when it performs a free outdoor concert to kick off events of the season in downtown Austin.

The “Downtown Austin —Your Summer Destination” kick-off concert will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31 on a live-stage set-up near Steve’s Pizza.

Entertainment will also included performances by Summerset Theater and Cosmic starting at 5 p.m.

Food venders and a Jaycees beer garden will add to the downtown festivities between a part of Main Street between Second and Fourth Avenue’s that will be closed off.

The concert was organized by the Vision 2020 Downtown Austin committee with a goal of drawing people to downtown and its businesses.

As a kick-off to summer, the concert will also help as a precursor to the Tuesday’s on Main hosted by the Austin Downtown Alliance which starts the following Tuesday, June 4.
